This is a commercial product developed under my company brand and sold to various clients.
SimplePOS was initially developed for a client in the hospitality industry in Ethiopia. Due to tight restrictions and control on POS software in the country, the few existing solutions did not provide the features my client needed so we developed it for them.
Our client also needed a very reliable system as they are located in a remote area with a very unreliable internet connection. SimplePOS was build with this in mind and, in 3 years, they've requested technical support three or four times only!
The system is now a production level POS system build specifically for the Ethiopian market. It can cater the needs of restaurants, cafes and any other business in the food service industry.
Small businesses do not need complex systems that are hard to setup and operate.
Simple doesn't mean lack of features though. SimplePOS has many features that any business would want without delving into more advanced features that only some businesses need.
SimplePOS was built with speed and easy of use in mind.
All sale operations are easy and quick to perform. Good for the staff and good for the customers.
You can manage restaurant tables and/or quick sales.
Reservations as well as table merging and moving are supported.
The system supports multiple stations.
Waiters can enter orders from any station available.
Great for businesses with a large floor space.
Orders are printed where the production staff is located.
Through the system's printing configuration, it's possible to direct printing
of order tickets according to items ordered.
For example food items can be printed in the kitchen and drinks in the bar.
Multiple payment methods are supported including cash, gift-cards, checques, credit cards and more.
The system can also cater to hotel requirements and keep track of bills charged to a hotel guest.
Temporary receipts are also supported. This is very useful to avoid/correct mistakes before issuing the finall receipt. Also very common in hotels where the guest is given the option to charge the bill to the room or pay immediately.
Keyboard/mouse and touch are both supported and can be used at the same time.
The orders screen also supports quick code-based ordering (keyboard only) or a touch based mode (mouse too).
Fine grained permission configuration without adding too much complexity.
Waiters, supervisors and admins all have their roles and operations that they can perform.
Reports are key in a POS solution and SimplePOS supports many industry standard reports.
Common date ranges, custom date ranges, grouping and more.
Menu configuration is easy but also caters for more complex scenarios.
Variations, modifiers and combinations are all supported.
Menu items can also be associated with an image for quicker recognition.
The login screen also serves as a quick overview of the service status.
From here staff is also able to restart/shutdown the computer (ideal when the system
is deployed in kiosk mode for example).
On the left quick operations menu.
On the right table service map with details about each table such as: state, guests, no. of tickets (for split bills) and more.
